Company history of Sierra Glass
Located in Hillsboro, Oregon since 1974
Gene Whittaker purchased Sierra Glass in 1974 and has been the driving force in making the company what it is today.
Gene was a full working owner/manager and when not out bidding and selling jobs, he was just as often found in the shop cutting glass, working on a custom antique car or out in the field helping our field technicians install windows.
Gene Whittaker is well known in the Hillsboro community and word of mouth, rather than large-scale advertising, has built our business. Gene retired in September of 2007 and handed the business over to his son, Vince Carter.
Gene still plays a major role in supporting Vince and continues to be the foundation that Vince has built upon. Vince continues to offer the same customer service and high quality workmanship that Gene implemented over 40 years ago. Gene made it possible for Vince to seamlessly enter the business by building a staff that Vince has been able to rely on to deliver the same exceptional service and workmanship for which we are known.
To better serve our customers, Sierra Glass remodeled our store in the summer of 2013. In order to give back to the community, we started collecting blankets for the needy so anyone can drop off donations of new blankets at our store and receive 10% off their bill.
Sierra Glass recommends Hillsboro Signs.
